The Century, equipped with itâs original 322ci/236hp engine and Dynaflow automatic transmission, is named such for easily doing 100mph, became Buicks performance line of production vehicles. Their performance and reliability was substantiated by becoming the vehicle of choice of the California Highway Patrol in 1955.
