Common Questions

What do I do if I want to buy something?
Click “Bid online now” on the Motorsport Auction Group listing when the docket is live and you’ll be taken to the website of our online platform provider Proxibid, where you can register to bid and begin the bidding process.
How long do I have to bid on something?
Our "Online Bidding Only" auctions are timed auctions. Each item will be available for several days. You will see the amount of time left to bid on each item when you click on it. The highest bid at the specified closing date and time wins the item, provided the Reserve (if any) is met.
What if I have a question about an item?
On the Proxibid listing, click on the “Get More Info” button, and one of our team members will try to find an answer for you as soon as possible.

The Bidding Process

If you have any questions about the bidding process that aren’t addressed below, please email office@magauctiongroup.com or call 888-330-0749
How do I register to bid?
You will need to create an account on Proxibid by clicking HERE (you will also be redirected there when you click on “Bid Online Now” next to an item on our website docket). Once there sign our bidder agreement, and provide a credit card for a deposit authorization.
What happens if I win an auction?
You will receive an email confirming you have won an item. The email will also guide you through the next steps.
How does payment work?
A MAG Auction representative will reach out to you within 2 business days regarding the purchase documents, and to arrange a wire transfer of funds, including buyer’s premium, and any necessary taxes depending on where you reside.
How do I get the title to a vehicle, and how does shipping work?
A MAG Auction team member will work with you to coordinate all necessary paperwork. Transporting/shipping each vehicle or memorabilia/automobilia item is the responsibility of each buyer to arrange and pay for.
What credit cards do you accept?
We accept all major credit/debit cards.
Can I bid if I’m not in the United States?
Absolutely – as long as you register with a valid credit card.
Can I cancel my bid?
Bids on the site cannot be canceled, rescinded, or revoked – be sure to take care when placing your bid.
What documents are required to register to bid?
The only documents required to bid in the MAG Auction "Online Bidding Only" auction are a copy of your driver’s license (if you are the winning bidder) and a credit card for a $2,500 authorization/hold through Proxibid.
I want to bid on something – where can I find the details?
We encourage all potential bidders to read the listing on our consignments found HERE or the Proxibid site HERE. You can ask questions by clicking “Get More Info” and a member of MAG Auctions will try to get an answer for you as soon as possible.
Can I place a bid for any amount/how do I place a maximum bid?
Maximum bids must be placed at specific increments. To view eligible bid amounts, open the bid increment table.
How does No Reserve/Reserve work when bidding?
If an item is selling with No Reserve, the bid increment amount you enter, if higher than the existing bid, will be the current high bid.
If an item is selling with a Reserve, and your bid is the current high bid, but it does not meet the Reserve set by the seller, you will see a “Reserve Not Met” message in the Lot listing. You can continue to bid in an attempt to meet the Reserve. Please note: for Lots with a Reserve, the auctioneer may bid on the consignor’s behalf in an amount not to exceed the Reserve amount.
Are there any fees for bidding?
Yes. Buyer’s premium (on top of the winning bid) is 10% for vehicle purchases with a 3% discount for cash, wire, or check.
Is there financing available for online auction purchases?
Yes, you can contact our endorsed lending partner, JJ Best Banc & Co, to get pre-approved for your auction purchase with low monthly payments.
