Buying Information

 Buying in Person

Attending an auction event in person is definitely the best and most exciting way to purchase a collectable automobile. MAG Auctions will do its best to make it an enjoyable auction event that you will remember for years to come as you cruise around in your newly acquired classic vehicle. To participate as a Bidder while attending in person, you must have a valid drivers license or passport, purchase a Bidders Badge and complete a Bidders Contract.

As an attending Bidder you will have ample time to look over your potential purchase(s) to satisfy yourself that you are fully aware of the condition inside and out. In most cases you will also have an opportunity to meet the present owner to discuss the history, condition, and any other pertinent information you feel is necessary to assure you completely and confidently that this is the automobile for you.

All purchases must be paid for in full on auction-sale day by wire transfer, cash, certified check, or bank draft. Personal checks and business checks will only be accepted when accompanied by an irrevocable Bank Letter of Credit Funds, stating bidding limit in favor of MAG Auctions and correctly dated for the applicable auction event in question and duly authorized by an officer of the financial institution. This will enable you to take all your purchases home on the same auction day.

As an alternative, upon purchase (per vehicle), you must be in a position to provide a $5,000.00 deposit by credit card or cash when requested by our clerks. Note: Payment by credit card is not an available option for purchase(s) and is only accepted temporarily as a non-refundable deposit which will hold your purchase(s) until 1:00 pm the next banking day. By then, you must have paid in full for all your purchases by wire transfer, cash, certified check, or bank draft delivered to the auction site. At that time, your purchase(s) will be released.

About credit card usage for Online, Proxy and Phone Bidding: As in the Attend in Person alternative, you must purchase a Bidders Badge (number) and submit a Credit Card Authorization form in the amount of $5,000.00. Your credit card deposit will suffice for a $25,000.00 bidding limit. If you require a higher bid limit, submit a Bank Letter of Credit for the amount you believe will be needed to complete all your purchases. Payment by credit card is not an available option for purchase(s) and is only accepted temporarily as a non-refundable deposit which will hold your purchase(s) until 1:00 pm the next banking day. By then, you must have paid in full for all your purchases by wire transfer, cash, certified check, or bank draft delivered to the auction site.
